DRAGON AGE INQUISTION

The third installment in the Dragon Age franchise is a BIG one. New lore to explore. legends to expose and a big reveal at the end makes this possibly the best Dragon Age game to date. You play as your designed character as you unearth secrets of an "Elder One" and close rifts that allow demons to pass through into the world of Thedas. You slowly rise up to earn the role of The Inquisitor and soon your the only one that can stop the Elder One's threat.
Story
Bioware were always good when it came to story writing. The story is a little cliche at times due to your character being the "Last Hope" and "The Chosen one" but bioware writes the story in a way to make you forget the cliches and just enjoy the story. Whether the story is better than Dragon Age Origins is up for debate but there is no doubt that the story isn't bad and is a great improvement on the story of Dragon Age 2. Characters are written well and all of them are giving a mostly appropriate reason for joining the Inquisition to restore order. There is not one character that was rushed in development as each and every one of them are unique yet can find something similar in other characters creating friendships and funny banter. The decisions in the game do struggle to make me feel like my decisions really mattered and my decisions only made a difference in the Trespasser DLC. Decisions honestly feel like a mini game to just impress all the characters due to the fact the decisions don't change anything really drastic. You could argue they change the political order in Ferelden and Orlais but you don't feel the weight of that decision. Your consequences are only veiwed as a slideshow at the end of the game which honestly made me stare at it and scratch my head.

Graphics
The graphics in Dragon Age games have also lagged behind a little and Dragon Age Inquistion is no different. The graphics are beautiful on PS4 XBOX ONE and PC but unfortunatly for last gen players the graphics have bad pop in, bad textures and sometimes characters look like playdough. However even on next gen some textures have bad pop-ins or simply stayed bad and blurry. This is not shown often however as only a few enemies and characters are low textured and these can easily be forgotten. The worlds in Ferelden and Orlais are bright and beautiful and caused me several times to lay down my controller and scan the area just looking at the wildlife that often scurried around. Each world is unique to the Western Approach with it's desearts and viscious wildlife to the Emprie Du Lion with it's bright snow and steep mountains. Characters smaller features such as freckles and scars amaze me with how well done they are. Seriously I spent ages looking at my Inquisitor's freckles in amazement. Dragon Age Inquistion has a bright colour palette as well as mage spells are bright purples, reds, blues and whites. Much brighter than any other Dragon Age. All in all the graphics amaze and continues to through the whole game.
Music
The music in this game is AMAZING. I have the whole soundtrack downloaded on my phone, laptop and ipod. Violins and cellos take enter stage mostly as they are heard a lot more than other instruments in the orchestra. The music is dramatic mostly with it beginning quietly building and building until it suddenly explodes. The love theme is subtle and quiet which fits in perfectly and the song The Dawn Will Come amazes me with the voice actors and actresses singing. Especially Cullen's OMFG his singing voice is precious. I reccomend the soundtrack to anybody even if they don't like Dragon Age.
Gameplay
The gameplay is a perfect mix between the strategic Dragon Age Origins and the more action packed Dragon Age 2. Abilities feel like they have more power and strength to them as well especially wtih the mages as spells seem more powerful and deadly giving th mages a more dangerous look than they usually had. The strategic camera is a little wonky has sometimes it's difficult to zoom in or zoom out or can sometimes just get stuck somewhere. For PC players the controls and gameplay were clunky and horrible as it felt like a bad PC port especially when I played it. Difficulty spikes are also a problem for me at least. I played a mission in Orlais and was faced with a boss. The boss and I were on the same level but somehow they spawned way too many enemies for me to handle. The area of the battle was difficult to run around as well as it was easy for something to get in your way. All in all the gameplay is good with a few minor problems.

9.5/10
I loved this game from the story to the characters. Everything is lush beautiful and the game starts relying more on it's lore. Amazing twists happen and heartbreaking moments bring me to tears and anger. This game is perfect for anyone looking for a good medieval rpg!
